My parents were living on a farm in South Eastern New South Wales in Australia, when Mum fell pregnant with me. Within a week of my conception mum was having a root canal when the Dentist made a mistake. The next day mum's face was numb and had swollen up like a balloon. She was rushed to hospital and over the next few days was given massive doses of two Penecllin drugs, kefelex and Shortly after she was released from hospital she found out she was pregnant with me and then she was told conflicting stories on the possible damage to me from the Antibiotics. Mum had a hard time during her pregnancy, often bleeding and and she was very sick. I was born in April 1996. The doctors and nurses at the hospital were amazed when I was born as I was born still inside the birth sac. Mum's water never broke and neither did the bag I was in until after all the nurses and doctors had come and seen mey lying on the table in the sac. I grew fast, too fast and I soon wore size 1 clothes at three months old. I was a reflux baby which means I was sick after every feed but I didn't have an off switch and I kept thinking I was hungry. It was when I started to walk that the doctors found out my legs were bent. I was so heavy and I weighed 33 kilo's at 18 months of age. The doctors didn't believe mum though when she told them something was different, they just said she may have big babies. Eventually the doctors found out that she was right and I have a disease called Blounts Disease. I was two when my daddy got too sick to be around us anymore. he had a disease that sent ammonia and chemicals into his brain and he went psychotic. He loved me very much but because he was so sick mentally we had to stay away from him. My dad died last year. Mum met my step dad Glen when I was little and they got married. He has always been dad to me. He is very sick with liver disease too but he is starting to slowly get better from a new experimental Interferon treatment. He will be on that for another five months. When I was little I had no sense of danger. I talked to anyone and would go off with anyone and when I was tiny everyone said it was cute but then when I started school none of the other kids liked me. As I got older the school finally listened to my mum when she said it was all "different" and they had me tested. They found out I have Aspergers Autism, as does my little Brother Brodie. When they tested me they found out my memory is that of a genius but yet I cannot write, spell or read properly. If I watch a documentary though I can remember it word for word. When I was five I had the first of a series of operations to straighten my legs. The doctors cut the leg and shaved the bone and reset it with pins in my legs. They made a mistake so they had to do it all over again. I was in plaster up to my thigh for four months afterwards. I have to have another six operations but I had to wait too long on the public hospital waiting list so now the doctors have to wait a few years because I am growing so fast. I don't like going to school because I get bullied badly by the other children because I am different and I look different. They are mean to me about my weight and my teeth and my crooked legs. It hurts me very much so mum is going to go through Home Schooling for me this year. I have five brothers and sisters to my mum. Krystal, Kaelan, Shayla, Brodie and Kahleah and my real dad has a daughter to another woman as well, I haven't seen her since I was little. I love Cooking with my mum and beading. I make necklaces and earrings out of beads. My favorite TV show is Charmed although I love Stargate SG1 and also Star Trek Voyager. Dad has all the DVD's of Star Trek movies and Tv so I often watch them. Other shows I watch are supernatural, House, NCIS, CSI - SVU and Criminal Intent as well as Law and Order. I like Medium and the Horse Whisper too. I like writing, although it is very hard for me because I can't spell. When I grow up I want to write just like mum. I have a dog called Early and a cat called Mayday. I love my animals, they are my best friends other than Kaelan. Mum calls us the KAOS kids because that is our initials. My real dad had a sense of humor so he called my brother Kaelan Alexander Orion Swan and Me Kiralea Amber Opal Swan. My mum set this site up for me when a nasty cruel small minded person had mum's profile deleted from Myspace that was for all my poetry. I think this is much better though because it is all mine.
